How Deekshith Deva turned into a dancer

Deekshith Deva born on 10 July 1977 is an Indian dancer, choreographer who has represented India and his state in several dance competitions. He has been called for his surreal dance moves in modern folk dance and for his classical dance forms and freestyle dance moves. Deva became known when his audition video went viral on YouTube. He started his career with a Telugu movie where he choreographed a song for the performance of the lead actors. When he performed his dance performance at a conference in UN headquarters, along with the great comments and applause he received criticism and bullying because of being a male classical dancer. He has been a contestant in several dance reality shows like Dance India Dance Season 2, Dance Deewane Season 1, and some others. He is taking training for being a great dancer since the time when he was just 5 years old. His mother had a passion for being a dance professional but due to some reasons he couldn’t pursue her dream and seeing his mother, he got inspired to learn different forms and started learning dance with the contemporary one.

Deekshith Deva as time passed by turned out into a successful personality who choreographed several dance performance at big shows of the town and state. People began calling him to host public events and teach kids to perform at shows. In year 2004, Deva started his own school where he used to teach dance and other important subjects like English and economics to kids who are underprivileged, mentally or physically disabled who cannot afford to go to any big school or university to learn all these. It was his passion towards the society welfare that led him to be a great social activist as well as an environmentalist. He had organized over 10-15 campaigns with big personalities where he promoted plantation and low usage of plastics and even endorsed use of local products. Deekshith Deva started to gather passion for social work when he was 16 and began to offer free dance classes to 4 underprivileged girls. This gave a new turn and a goal to his life. He realised that there must be so many of kids who cannot afford going to big dance schools to learn skills that can make them self-dependent.

Deekshith Deva even owns 2 blogging websites where he post content on important subjects like economy and democracy of India and how working together can make this a better place to live. In short, it won't be wrong to say he is a motivating personality.
